**THE MCBRIER BRIDGE IN HERMON WILL BE CLOSING  THURSDAY, MAY 14TH FOR RECONSTRUCTION. IT WILL INCLUDE A NEW DECK, GUIDE RAILS, LIGHTING AND A SIDEWALK INSTALLED. THIS PROJECT WILL TAKE AT LEAST 60 DAYS SO PLEASE PLAN TO USE DETOURS ACCORDINGLY!

HERMON CEMETERY: We have been receiving calls regarding the Hermon Cemetery. Please be advised that the Town of Hermon does not have authority over the Hermon Cemetery. This cemetery is owned and operated by the Hermon Cemetery Association. If you have questions, comments or complaints regarding the Hermon Cemetery we would advise you to call Ronald Bovay who is President of the Association at 315-347-4799.

NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORSThe United Methodist Church of Hermon has a food bank with basic needs to assist any member of our community in need. If you know of elderly, shut-ins or those in need, please have them call April Allen at 315-854-5135 for assistance!

The Hermon Town Court, with the Honorable Christopher Velez presiding, is now open. Notary services are now available at the Court or anytime the Judge or Clerk are at the office. Office: (315) 347-2091.

NEW CODES OFFICER APPOINTEDMichael McQuade of Gouverneur has been appointed by the Town Board as the Code Officer for the Town of Hermon effective Monday, May 11, 2020, Mike has been Code Officer for the Town of Gouverneur and Village of Gouverneur since 2009. He has also been Acting Assessor of Gouverneur since 2012. We welcome Mike and his experience to the Town of Hermon!

BRIDGE PROJECTThe town was approved for a $50,000 grant to improve the Main Street McBrier bridge. This is a reimburseable grant, meaning that the town pays for the project and then is reimbursed from grant funding from DASNY.

Fiacco & Riley of Norwood, NY was awarded the construction of the bridge project which is currently underway. They will be replacing the deck of the bridge. In addition the Town Board has approved funds to provide for decorative lights on each end of the bridge, a sidewalk attached to the bridge, box guardrails on the bridge and paving of the approaches to the bridge.  The bridge construction should be completed by August 1st and reopened. ATV USAGE ON TOWN ROADSThe Town of Hermon's roads are not part of the St. Lawrence County Trail System and are not open to any off road vehicles. New York State law prohibits the use of any highway by off road atv and utv vehicles unless they are approved connector roads of a county approved trail system.  Violaters can be ticketed and fined. Click here to see the regulations.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN DONATING A GIFT TO THE TOWN OF HERMONThe Town has passed a resolution to accept gifts. The gift giver may be specific on how they would like their gift used. The gift is acknowledged in writing. Recently, we received a gift from James Morrill for our Historical Center. Lenore Zaunere, Town Historian, has put this gift to wonderful use.
